What it is
A unit row tells you which acreage is pooled to a well, who operates it and how large it is. Joined to wells and production, it ties output to a defined area.
Every unit row in the view carries an outline polygon (294,984 of 294,984 on 2026-10-07), deliverable as GeoParquet or GeoJSON. Primary key: unit_id.
Delivery
- API: filter by state, county, API number or update date; JSON pages with a cursor.
- Bulk files: Parquet, CSV or JSONL, one file set per state, with a manifest of row counts and checksums.
- Agent endpoint: the same rows behind an MCP tool, keyed per agent.

Coverage by state
294,984 units in ds9_landtrac_units; the upstream unit index held 396,580 at the census probe on 2026-10-07. Our last unit harvest ran 2026-04-25 and the view was built 2026-07-18, so recent units are missing.

Known limits
- Harvest is stale: last run 2026-04-25. A refresh is needed before a recurring delivery; the scope will say when it is done.
- Every unit row carries one well API number (294,984 of 294,984). Other wells in the same unit are reached through the outline geometry, not a second API field.
- 294,899 of 294,984 units carry an acreage greater than zero.
