What it is

A well header row: who operates the well, where it is, how deep, when it was spud and completed, and its status. It is the hub that permits, units and production join to.

Primary key: CompletionId (also unique as API14 in the view). One API10 can have several rows, one per wellbore or completion: 5,408,445 rows hold 4,997,962 distinct API10.

Refresh: the upstream well feed is harvested monthly; the view was last built 2026-10-07.

Delivery

  • API: filter by state, county, API number or update date; JSON pages with a cursor.
  • Bulk files: Parquet, CSV or JSONL, one file set per state, with a manifest of row counts and checksums.
  • Agent endpoint: the same rows behind an MCP tool, keyed per agent.

Known limits

  • The view held 5,408,445 rows against an upstream index of 5,701,173 on 2026-10-07; a missing API number is not proof the well does not exist.
  • Texas wells carry survey and abstract fields rather than Section, Township and Range.
  • Spud dates near 1900 include placeholder values passed through from the source.
  • The well row and the production header are separate feeds and can disagree: the sample well reports 71 months produced and last production 2026-07, its header 68 months through 2026-04. A delivery carries both, each with its own date.
